Why do I have to pay line rental to get broadband?

Internet Broadband Providers (ISPs) use the phone line to deliver their broadband service to your property.

This line is required and part of the broadband packages even if you don’t connect and use a phone on the line. BT Openreach own the copper wire telephone network which delivers broadband to the UK’s home.
