How to troubleshoot Edge Telecom broadband performance problems

Is it the Edge Telecom broadband that is running slow or is it your device (laptop/smartphone/PC)?

You need to check the number of apps are currently running on your device.

The performance problem may be due to the over-utilisation of your system resources e.g RAM/CPU and not an issue with Edge Telecom’s broadband connection.

If you are on a PC then you can use the task manager to see your Processor and RAM usage.

If the result is better when you’re connected via an ethernet cable, this suggests that the problem may be with your internal wireless network.

A few other things to check:

  • Are the WiFi channels that you are using for your Wifi network (SSID) overlapping with your neighbours?
  • Is the wireless network signal from the broadband router obstructed?
  • Does the speed get better when your are stood right infront of the Edge Telecom broadband router?
