Likely causes of ICTS Group’s slow broadband speed
Is it your ICTS Group broadband that is slow or is it your device (PC/laptop/phone)?
You may need to consider the number of apps are running on your device.
The speed issue may be due to the over-utilization of your device’s resources i.e RAM/memory/CPU and not a problem with ICTS Group’s internet connection.
If you are on a computer then you can use the task manager to check your Processor and RAM usage.
On any other device, you could try restarting the device which should hopefully shutdown all apps that may have been hogging your device resources.
Run the ICTS Group Speedtest on your PC and your mobile phone to see how the results compare between the 2 devices.
Hopefully this should provide you with more info to help determine if the problem is with your PC/Smartphone or the ICTS Group internet connection.

Is the Wifi the cause of the performance issue?
The root cause of the performance problem could be your wireless network as opposed to the ICTS Group internet connection.
You could rule out the Wifi network by simply connecting your computer directly to the ICTS Group broadband router with a network cable and then run the ICTS Group Speedtest again.
If the speed test result is better when you are connected via an ethernet cable, this proves that the issue may be with the Wifi.
A number of things to investigate:
- Are the Wireless channels that you’re using for your Wifi network (SSID) overlapping with the neighbours?
- Is your Wifi network signal from the internet router obstructed?
- Does the speed improve when your are standing directly infront of the ICTS Group broadband router?
Exactly who’s connected to my Wifi network?
Have you checked that your wireless network password has not been compromised? Do you have an un-secured Wifi network? How strong is your Wifi network password? It may be time to update it.
Others could be using your Wifi network and eating up all your ICTS Group speed by downloading, uploading or even streaming music or videos on your ICTS Group broadband connection! Worse still, they could be conducting illegal activities on your ICTS Group broadband connection.
There are 3 apps to use to scan your wireless network to see who is connected:
- Windows users can use Wireless network watcher
- IOS users can use whoFi (who is on my Wifi)
- wireless network troubleshooting tool WiFi Analyzer
The above applications analyse your Wifi network and display a list of the connected devices.
Should I get a Wifi network booster for my ICTS Group broadband?
You may discover that you have wireless coverage holes in your property, a Wifi extender also known as a Wifi Booster may be the best fix to increase your Wifi signal to cover any coverage gaps.
The wireless network booster simply picks up your existing wireless signal just as it is becoming weaker and re-transmits the wireless network signal to extend it’s coverage.
Place the Wi-Fi network booster/extender where your wireless signal from the ICTS Group internet router is starting to become weaker.
Position it near where your Wifi network signal is dropping down to less than two bars. Walk around your property with a mobile phone to find where this location is.
When was the last time you upgraded the ICTS Group broadband router?
The ICTS Group and broadband infrastructure, in general, are constantly upgraded to provide new features and improve performance as technology evolves. Ensure that your ICTS Group broadband router is running the latest software.
Most ICTS Group internet routers allow you to perform the software upgrade by logging into the ICTS Group broadband router and simply clicking on a button to do the update.
If you cannot do this, get in touch with ICTS Group and they will do this for you or alternatively, guide you through performing the upgrade yourself.

Is the cause of the problem external to your home (at the exchange)?

If you are not sure if this is relevant in your case, contact ICTS Group who should be able to carry out the relevant connection checks to check if there is a issue on the ICTS Group broadband line.
